Improvisation training for experienced actors, dancers, and performers to deepen their Action Theater practice. This training allows performers to: identify mental blocks; repeat actions clearly; communicate better; make quicker decisions; stay in the present; maintain focus; think less and do more. All the aspects of our instrument, the human body/mind, are tied up in many kinds of judgments and habits. In this training the details of our blocks are discovered. We break elements down. We work with very simple limitations that promote awareness; e.g. sound only, movement only, sound and language. We separate observable exterior elements into three parts: sound, movement and language. Interior elements are separated into feeling state, kinesthetic sensation and action. Action
Theater practice leads towards: improvisational
performance. No score, no structure, no story--the action unfolds for
the first time in front of the performer and the audience. Performers
have no idea what it's going to be about or how it's going to feel. They
enter the stage empty. |
