Contact In Context

Contact in Context

This class will specifically deal with the natural human response to physical contact as well as its socially constructed values.

With contact improvisation form, we often bypass the content — the inherent dramatic reaction to touching and being touched. In this class, we will enter into those moments again and again, and examine what we have missed by sliding straight to the fluidity of movement. We will detail the moments before and after touch occurs. We will investigate the heightened sensitivity before touch happens and the electrical discharge of separation.

This class will be an investigation into the fire of human life — who you are and how you are when you touch.
